Anastasia Beverly Hills Spring 2016 Liquid Lipsticks: Review and Photos

I like lipstick. A lot. The collection I keep at my desk alone is in the high 50s. And at home? Probably in the few hundreds. Some people call it a hoarding problem; I call it an obsession. But in all my years stalking new launches, I've never seen a line of lipsticks (beside Kylie Jenner's) garner more buzz than Anastasia Beverly Hills' new $20 liquid ones. The brand, founded by Anastasia Soare and her daughter, Claudia, has amassed a cult following of more than 10 million on Instagram. In fact, the fan base is so dedicated, they've been having trouble keeping enough shades in stock.

To find out more about the secret sauce behind the line, I caught up with Claudia to chat Insta-trends, application tricks (because, real talk, liquid lipstick is trickier to put on than the regular stuff), and more. Oh, and naturally I had to try all 10 of the new spring shades for myself. Here's why you'll want to get your hands on them during your next Sephora run—if they haven't flown off the shelves of your local store already. (Don't worry, they'll get restocked.)

The biggest reason liquid lipstick is becoming more popular is actually pretty simple: It stays on longer than most other formulas. "You don't have to worry about it every three minutes," Claudia told me. That's fact. Unlike other formulas I've tried, this wasn't too drying and didn't pull my lips uncomfortably. "It allows someone with smaller lips to be able to wear them and not feel like their lips are disappearing because the formula is so tight," she says.
