The Phillies return to DC today to begin a set of four against the Nats over three days, including a double header on Saturday. In typical Fightins fashion, everybody decided to fall into a slump at the same time, a problem Washington's pitching staff could easily remedy in this hustled series.
Baseball games aren't the only thing being made up this weekend, as the WFC are finally getting their moment with the Commander-in-chief. According to whitehouse.gov, the Phillies are scheduled to be greeted by President Obama at the White House at 12:20 today. The event was originally scheduled in April, but was postponed due to Harry's passing.
The link takes you to live streaming video from the White House. Not really sure what to expect from that, or the meeting itself for that matter. Is it just a canned photo-op and a tour, or do these guys get to hang out with the prez? Will Victorino give Obama a shaving cream pie, or will the secret service step in? Who will stammer and stutter and give us fodder for the rest of the season? A fanbase breathlessly awaits.
