Brock Lesnar is one of the most fearsome and successful WWE superstars in history. His huge worldwide fanbase has always been a big component as far as WW’s business model is concerned. However, there was a time when the wrestling entertainment organization ignore Lesnar’s business instincts.
It was when Brock Lesnar refused to battle the former WWF Hardcore Champion, Bob Holly, that he was forced to travel despite his reluctance.
At the 2004 WWE Royal Rumble, Lesnar and Holly faced off against each other. It took Lesnar a little over six minutes to win the match. After that instance, Brock Lesnar was scheduled to fight against the Hardcore Holly in a series of encounters.
One such schedule was planned for a tour in South Africa when ‘The Beast Incarnate’ had to face Hardcore Holly in WWE House Shows. However, he initially refused to do so.
In his book, “Death Clutch”, the 44-year-old wrestler recalled the incident related to his South Africa tour.
He wrote, “Now I have to travel all the way to South Africa to work with Bob Holly? Could anyone please tell me why? I knew no one would pay to see that match. Since I’m not really needed, give me some time off. I really needed the break by this time, but John Laurinaitis told me how much I’m needed on the card. AGAINST BOB HOLLY? Are you sh***ing me?”

Brock Lesnar emerged victorious every time
On that South Africa trip, Brock Lesnar wrestled against Hardcore Holly in four singles matches. Interestingly, in each of them, the Beast Incarnate triumphed. Hardcore Holly and Brock Lesnar have a history together. In another encounter against Lesnar back in 2002, Holly inadvertently hurt his neck.
As we speak, Brock Lesnar is still under contract with WWE. However, he is yet to appear in any main event following his feud against Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 38.
Currently, it appears like the Beast Incarnate is taking a rest. However, it is highly probable that he could return to WWE action in the not-too-distant future. And when that happens, the WWE universe would love to welcome him back.
