Whoever said beauty is pain might have been referring specifically to Bella Hadid's 2018 Met Gala look.
The 21-year-old model's custom Chrome Hearts x Gareth Pugh outfit definitely caught our attention on the red carpet. But really, it was her accessories that demand a second look—especially after Hadid revealed that the headpiece she wore so effortlessly for photo opps weighed a whopping 10 pounds.
Once she made her way inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Hadid shared a close-up of her outfit on her Instagram Stories, captioning it: "If anyone was wondering why I couldn't move it's because a legend by the name of @jenatkinhair sewed a whole entire 10 pounds veil to my head." Now that's dedication.

The rest of Hadid's ensemble was equally attention-grabbing: She wore a black latex corset, a long black skirt with crosses at the bottom, and a black coat with a high collar and sculptural sleeves. The look, which played to the theme of the Costume Institute's latest exhibit, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” was designed by Chrome Hearts, a brand Hadid has collaborated with in the past. On top of the 10-pound veil, Bella accessorized with a gold cross necklace, black fingerless gloves, and gold eyeshadow.
