Why Carly Waddell Came Back for More: "Was I surprised? Yes and no," says Harrison. "I wasn’t too surprised she came back, [even given the] heartbreak [of what happened with Kirk]. Sometimes that happens in relationships. It had nothing to do with the show or the producers, and I could see that if we had anything to do with it, she’d be angry at us. It was really just the guy and the timing. She was excited to come back and give it another shot."
Josh Murray and Nick Viall, Together Again: "As far as all the couples go, I think I was trying to bring Josh and Nick together as a couple," laughs Harrison. "Obviously, they’ve had their issues. They’ve gone after the same girl a couple of times. Nick always seems to lose and come out in second place. It kind of happened again this time."
Teacher's Pets: "[Sarah Herron] is a very good friend of mine," reveals Harrison. "I love her to death. She’s an amazing woman. When she came back—because I knew she was coming back—I said, 'I’m rooting for you. Period. Hands down. You are one of my favorites.' I told Carly the same thing. I said, 'You two, I’ve had my eye on. I really want this to work for you guys.' For very different reasons—Carly, because of the heartbreak from last season—and Sarah, because she’s this dear person in my life. I would love for her to find love. I will continue to work for her."
Jared and Ashley I., Part Deux: "I wanted to exorcise the demon that is Jared from Ashley’s life; I think I’ve accomplished that," boasts Harrison. "[But] Ashley was still, no matter what she said to me, obsessed with Jared. He was still in her head. When she pulled into Paradise, she had all these aspirations of moving on—and when she saw Jared, she was just done. The puppy dog look, the tears, the whole thing. I just tried to tell her, ‘Look, you have to move on from this. It’s just not happening. He doesn’t love you. He thinks [of you] as a friend, but that’s all it’s ever going to be.' I think we’ve finally done it. I think we’ve finally moved her past the Jared spell."
Sex on a Stick: "Grant and Lace are just hot," he says of the budding couple. "They are just sex on a plate. You look at them, and they’re just walking and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, they’re having sex.’ He’s just a sexy dude, the way he carries himself. Again, he’s a very attractive man. He’s kind of my type. [Laughs] Lace, watch out. [But, seriously], no one dared go near that volcano [that's Grant and Lace]. There was no touching that."
