The Game Awards, which is the biggest end-of-the-year event for games, will be held tonight on December 9, and it’s definitely possible for Square Enix to finally reveal a bit more on FF7R Part 2, most notably a title reveal.
While Square Enix already stated multiple times in the past to be working on the sequel, no official title for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 was ever announced. Hence why everyone simply calls it “Part 2”.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 predictions for The Game Awards 2021
Final Fantasy VII Remake on PC and Xbox
The most likely scenario I can see happen is Square Enix first announcing Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on PC. There are been several hints in the past, from Square Enix itself, pointing out that FF7R would be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S as well. However, there still hasn’t been any official announcement. The Game Awards would be the final occasion to do that in 2021.
Right now, Final Fantasy VII Intergrade has been out as a PS5 exclusive since June 10, 2021. Meaning we’re nearing the end of the six-month PS5 exclusivity that was mentioned by Sony.
FF7R Part 2 title reveal coming at the Game Awards?
Moreover, I’m imagining an announcement revealing at least the title of FF7R Part 2. This is Final Fantasy and Square Enix we’re talking of, the game is bound to have a subtitle. I don’t believe we’ll see much more though. We probably won’t see an actual gameplay trailer until sometime in 2022.
The Game Awards considers itself the Oscars of games for better and worse. You can’t expect anything out of the AAA Western space to show up. Final Fantasy is pretty much one of the only Japanese franchises that are mainstream enough to be under the spotlight at the event, so an announcement is definitely likely.
The latest details on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 were shared by Tetsuya Nomura a few months ago, most notably hinting world map-like elements will be coming with “Cloud running in the wilderness”.
