A crestfallen Caleb Williams had to be consoled by his mother after USC lost out to Washington on Saturday evening.
The No. 5 seeded Huskies beat No. 21 Trojans 52-42 in Los Angeles to remain undefeated for the NCAA season.

Williams, the consensus No.1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, finished with 312 passing yards, three touchdowns and a fourth score rushing.
But the 21-year-old took a critical 12-yard sack on third down in the fourth quarter that knocked the Trojans out of field goal range, preventing USC from potentially tying the game.
After shaking hands with UW players and coaches after the game, Williams climbed onto a ledge into the first row of the LA Colisuem, buried his head into his mother’s shoulder and cried.
“I want to go home and cuddle with my dog and watch some shows,” Williams said.

Washington running-back Dillon Johnson rushed for career highs of 256 yards and four touchdowns.
Johnson’s standout performance concluded when he scored his fourth touchdown with 2:20 remaining, giving Washington the first and only two-score advantage either team held in the shootout.
Defeats to Notre Dame, Utah, and now Washington effectively ends USC's slim hopes of making the College Football Playoffs.
Their next two games are on the road at No. 6 Oregon before they end their season at home against No. 19 UCLA.
