Elden Ring players who plan to get the physical version of the game will need to download a Day 1 update that fixes some major issues.
Elden Ring will be officially out in less than 24 hours and fans are extremely excited about the next big adventure ahead in a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin.

With the overwhelmingly positive reviews that Elden Ring has received from the media so far, it’s tough for gamers to wait until launch, though there are like 10 hours left until launch.
Elden Ring Day 1 Update Patch Notes
According to FromSoftware, Elden Ring will have a Day 1 update at launch. Players who purchase the digital version will receive the update as a part of their game data, but if you’re going to get the physical version of the game, you will need to download the update separately.

- Improved player controls
- Addition and adjustment of BGM
- Text adjustments
- Balance adjustments
- NPC event fixes and adjustments
- Fixed frame rate drops under certain conditions
- Fixed text bug in some languages
- Also fixed a bug that prevented the Xbox wireless headset from working properly
The update’s file size will be 13 GB on PC. There is no info on the file size on consoles, but you can consider something around 10 GB at least.
While PlayStation players with physical edition will be able to skip the update, we strongly suggest you download the update before starting your run as the day one patch fixes some major issues including frame drops.
Elden Ring will be available on February 25 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
