Welcome to the walkthrough for Jewel Quest. My Name is Eff GX and I'll guide you through this incredibly challenging game. Nah, just kidding! :-) It's an easy completion, but you'll have to invest some time to get there.
Jewel Quest is a puzzle game in the likes of Bejeweled or other Match-3 games. So you'll have a board and exchange neighbouring gems on it, until at least 3 of the same type are lined up, which will then vanish and new gems drop in. Sadly this game lacks any power gems, which would make this task more worthwhile or fun. To complete a stage you will have to make a match on each tile of the board. In doing so any matched on tile will flip over to a golden tile, so you'll know which tiles are finished already. The game consists of 5 levels with an increasing number of stages, totaling 46. On top of that there are 5 ranks, each with the same set of those 46 stages, but with different rank specific rules. (Detailed in the walkthrough.)
To get the 100% in this game you will have to clear all those 5 ranks. That's why I put the number of playthroughs to 5, although technically it's only one playthrough.
Additionally, you'll have to earn a certain amount of points on the go, but if you complete the game in one go you will end up with almost 2 millions of points which is four times the amount you actually need.
Each stage you'll get a checkpoint from where you can go on, unless you lose all your lives. Then you'll lose all your points too and will have to start over at stage 1 of that rank you are at. (You can also start over at the first rank, if for some strange reason you want to do that.) This might sound a bit challenging, but there is a nifty trick so you won't run out of lives that easily which makes the game much easier! (Detailed in the tips section.)
Your completion time will vary due to the type of game. It all depends on the starting setup of gems on the board, where you match up your gems and how lucky you'll get with the respawning gems. In the end it should take you somewhere in between 10 to 20 hours.
(On a side note: The game can get pretty boring when you do the same stages over and over again. So I suggest you either take breaks or complete one rank per day. Alternatively watch some TV or listen to some music while playing the game to keep the spirits up. )
