From the main menu select "Play Alone."
Once the screen pans over to the right, select "New Story."
The game will then ask you what QTE difficulty, you would like to play on. Select "Forgiving."
Choosing "Forgiving" doesn't matter too much, but it will cut the amount of heartbeats we have to hit in a heartbeat QTE in half.
After the difficulty, choose to save the file to a "New Slot."
Once a save slot is selected, the first cut scene of the game will play.
Character: Balathu
This is the prologue of the game. There is one collectable in the prologue.
You will see the characters Kurum and Balathu fighting each other.
Balathu will be summoned to the kings court and have a conversation with the king. He will then be asked to kill the woman.
Say: Compliant. (Again we are choosing all head decisions. This is the first dialogue option of the game, look for the brain symbol behind the text, to make sure you are choosing the correct decision).
The woman will break free from Balathu's grasp and fight back. Two button QTEs will pop up.
Button QTE: Press .
The woman continues to fight Balathu.
Button QTE: Press .
The woman will break free from Balathu and start running away.
Aimed QTE: Aim the reticle at the woman and when the reticle turns red, confirm the QTE with .
The woman will then get impaled by the spear. Killing the woman with a spear as Balathu is important to an achievement we will get later in the game.
We then get a brief scene of Kurum being put in a jail cell, killing the guard and breaking out.
The scene will then switch to the King on his throne. We get some scenes where the armies outside of the temple begin to battle and an eclipse appears.
After a small scene where the two armies fight, the camera pans below the ground and you hear the screeching of something awakening.
Kurum then enters the main temple, to find all of the Akkadians dead, except for Balathu, who is barricading the door.
Kurum and Balathu fight each other for a bit, but soon they work together to hold the door.
They share some dialogue, but eventually they both run away together to the catacombs.
Once in the catacombs, Kurum and Balathu will try to open a door.
Button Mash QTE: Hold . (Do not miss this QTE or your relationship with Kurum will go down, which in turn will cause him to betray us later, which we do not want).
Soon after entering the next room, Kurum and Balathu will get spooked by a rat and a heartbeat QTE will pop up.
Heartbeat QTE: Press in time with the heartbeats.
After realizing it was just a rat, Balathu will bend down to pick up a helmet on the ground.
This is still a tutorial, so the game is trying to teach us how to inspect and rotate objects.
Hold to pick up the helmet. Once in your hand, rotate the helmet using the right stick. A beetle will pop out of one of the eye holes of the helmet.
You will then gain actual control of Balathu and you can walk around the room.
There is a collectable here. Walk around to the right side of the room. On the floor, on top of a pile of bones, is a picture collectable.

After watching the little cut scene that plays after viewing the picture, you should see "Premonition Unlocked" in the top left of your screen.
Press to go back to free roam. Walk a little to the left of the picture and interact with the door by pressing
.
Balathu and Kurum will then open the door together and head down a hallway while talking.
Say: Respectful. (Both options here are Head options, so we could technically choose either option. But we need to say the "Respectful" option here).
Kurum will respond positively to Balathu's proposition of working together.
After gaining control of Balathu again, walk all the way down to the door at the end of the hallway, but do not open the door yet.
If you pay attention, when you get to the door, you'll notice that the prompt on the screen looks like this:

Whenever you see that symbol, it means that interacting with that item will end the scene.
This is helpful for every chapter in the game, so that we don't acidentally progress to the next scene, while looking for collectables.
Anyway, press to open the door now.
Balathu and Kurum will then see a creatures hand slowly reach through the door. They will begin to run away.
Button Mash QTE: Hold .
After running back into the main room, Balathu and Kurum will decide whether they should fight together or betray each other.
Choose: Fight
After choosing to Fight together with Kurum, you will unlock the achievement:
The creature will then jump across the hole in the middle of the room and start fighting Balathu and Kurum. (Do not miss either prompt in the upcoming Button QTE).
Button QTE: Press .
Balathu will continue to fight the creature.
Button QTE: Press .
You will soon see Kurum get carried off by the creature and Balathu will try opening a door.
But his actions will be in vain, as another creature is waiting for him behind the door as well.
The scene will then fade and a cut scene will begin, where the Curator is walking down a hallway. You can skip this cut scene by holding if you'd like to.
The Curator will then give you an introduction to the story you are about to take part in and then bid you farewell.
The scene will then change to Iraq.
