Guide for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD

On this page I will give you a few hints & tips. There is really only one you need to remember at all time: you need to combo all the time if you are going for the Sick Score goal. I suggest you try to clear these goals before you ever go for another goal. As stated on the overview page: you'll need 2 playthroughs. One for the 'Classic Goals' and one for the Projectives, which unlock once you've finished every other goal in every level. For the Classic Goals, you get a timer of 2:00 minutes, but you can retry the level as many times as you wish. In Projectives, you get 1:00 minute. I tried to clear one goal at a time, except for the Combo Score which I tried to combine while going for collecting the COMBO letters.

For every goal you finish, you get cash. With that cash, I suggest you max out your stats first. They will come in handy for later levels. After you have maxed out your stats, buy some tricks so you can get more points. In the Flip Tricks-section; Kickflip to Indy, Heelflip To Lien and Ollie North are tricks you can hold. In the Grab Tricks-section; Rocket Air, Indy Stiffy and Japan Air will give you a lot of points. Obviously, they are the most expensive. After that, you should have some money left. With that cash, it's better to buy some specials. It depends from player to player what they buy most, but since I use a lot of grinds in my combo's, I bought two more Special Grinds. If you use a lot of Half- or Quarter Pipe tricks, feel free to buy some Special Grabs or Special Flips.

Assign your Special Tricks to button combinations you can easily remember. The most obvious are cn_left-cn_right-[button] or cn_up-cn_down-[button]

If you feel lost, you can use an in-game map. To access it, press cn_start and then cn_RB. There, you can see where the last letter of SKATE is (this is an example). Using this map will not affect your achievements. While progressing through the story, you will most likely unlock in-game cheats. When you start using these, your progress will not be saved and you will not earn any achievements so they are quite useless achievement-wise.

It is worth noting that Spinning in the air was better for me when I used the cn_RT or cn_LT-buttons. If you like to use your Left Thumbstick, feel free to do so but that didn't work out well for me.
