Halima Abubakar controversies

Halima and Tonto Dikeh used to be close friends, but after a string of altercations inside and outside the Nollywood film industry, they split up. She once dubbed several of her industry peers bullies in an Instagram post, but she did not name any specific individuals. Tonto Dikeh responded to the post by claiming that Halima is lying and not being sincere if she withholds the identities of the individuals she referred to as bullies.

After an American mother accused Halima Abubakar of stealing her baby’s pictures, she removed the contentious photos and uploaded a video of herself while pregnant. She stated that she used the picture because her baby was born prematurely, and she did not want people to believe she had lied about her pregnancy.

Although the 34-year-old actress expressed her regret to the American mother known as Ariel in a chat that was made public, she avoided explicitly addressing the matter with her followers. Instead, the new mother deleted the image of the infant.

On April 6, 2020, the actress, who had earlier shared a photo of herself while pregnant on Instagram, posted a video where she could be seen beaming and glowing. Many questioned Halima’s pregnancy after Ariel’s claim. The video was likely posted to dispel any doubts.

Halima Abubakar, a Nollywood actress, criticized Shan George for claiming that Johnson Suleman was not a romantic interest of hers.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Shan George took to her Instagram page on July 25, 2022, to deny ever getting into any romantic relationship with the founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Shan George didn’t just refute the accusations; she also praised Apostle Johnson Suleman, calling him one of the most straightforward and nicest people she had ever met.

Halima referred to Shan George as gossip and was urged to remember their earlier interactions. Halima has since released a series of implicating messages about Shan George. The actress has also dragged other Nollywood actresses into the mix with the pastor. She also mentioned the names of other Nollywood actresses who have slept with the pastor. Iyabo Ojo was mentioned in the list.

Suleman has filed a lawsuit against Abubakar. In the lawsuit brought by his attorney, the cleric (Suleman) accused Halima of defamation, blackmail, and publishing disparaging remarks about him.

“It is our brief that you caused the publication of malicious, defamatory, and demeaning statements about our client in several microblog sites, particularly Gistlover, and your Instagram handle Halima Abubakar, which have wider reach within Nigeria and the rest of the world,” the lawsuit read in part.

Abubakar has responded to the lawsuit. She responded by joking that she would see the pastor in court in a post on her Instagram story.

The once-famous actress blamed the controversial preacher for months, alleging that he had broken his vow to marry her and was responsible for a long-running, potentially fatal illness.
