Cutting them down will effect the swingweight, so they may feel discernably lighter when you get them back, you may lose a bit of distance. If you send them back to Ping they will shorten them and re-swingweight. (The part at the back of the clubhead that says ping on it is actually a weight, these can be changed so that the swingweight remains the same even when you shorten or lengthen clubs).
