Musical artists have increasingly been using their faces as a canvas these days, rocking ink across their foreheads, cheeks, necks, undereyes and more.
Most notably, Jelly Roll’s face ink was the star of a 2024 Uber Eats Super Bowl commercial — as he forgot he had them! In the 15-second teaser, the country star — who’s also known for his numerous face tattoos — is putting some toiletries away in his bathroom when he shuts the door to his medicine cabinet. That’s when he sees his reflection in the mirror. Jelly’s eyes pop open wide, his jaw drops and one hand slowly moves up to touch his ink. “What happened to my face?!” he wonders before yelling, “Are these tattoos?!?”

Some stars have also recently begun their face tattoo journey, as Cardi B got her first face tattoo, inking a red phrase along her jawline. While it’s still unclear what the tattoo says, the “I Like It” rapper has previously expressed interest in getting her son’s name, Wave, tattooed on her face. She hinted to wanting that specific tattoo back in a 2022 tweet, in which she wrote, “Random but ….I’m 1% close too tatting my sons name on my face….I really really wanna do it!”
Speaking of face tattoos dedicated to family members, Drake got his mom’s initials tattooed on his face, since he only loves his bed and his mama, after all. The Honestly, Nevermind rapper revealed in August that he paid tribute to his beloved mother recently by getting a delicate “SG” inked right below his left eye, an homage to Sandy Graham, aka “Sandra Gale,” as he captioned the post.
From Post Malone‘s medieval arm holding a spiky flail to Kehlani‘s cheek paper airplane, face tattoos have become quite common on the red carpet, ranging from large pieces of ink to subtle highlights of the stars’ features.
