This is where all our garbage is taken. It is separated for recycling, IE; metal, green waste, plastic's, drywall.... Also our garbage trucks will pick up appliances, mattresses and just about any large items curbside. This cuts back on people of questionable character dumping their crap along the roadside or in a field or forest someplace.
This facility is cleared by truck's, however their are similar facilities serviced by rail. If you look in the background of the photo you can see large wood chip piles at the sawmills. There is rail service along there and the Transfer station (indoor garbage dump) building can have rail service if needed.
Modeling a building similar to this one would be another industry to model that could include rail.
