From his physicality to his intense looks, everything about Sylvester Stallone screams a man who could beat anyone to a pulp. And so he does when portraying many of his tough action roles on-screen. From playing an underdog that could break every bone in the ring in the Rocky franchise, to playing a highly skilled Vietnam war veteran in the Rambo series, he is known best for his action-packed roles that leave viewers wanting more.

Even his voice and intense glare could send people running, making Stallone one of the most fan-favorite action heroes. On-screen the actor has killed, beaten, and defeated many a powerful villain, but can he really beat up guys in real life? In an interview with Time, back in 2010, he was thus asked the question,

“Can you fight in real life?”

To which he readily replied,

“I’m pretty good. I’ve always been very aggressive and quick with my hands. That’s why I decided, when I had the chance to do Rocky , to become a boxer, because I thought I could pull that off, as opposed to a tennis player or a running back.”

And perhaps that is why he is such an enduring figure in the action genre in all of Hollywood.

The majority would readily agree that the Creed star in fact gives a very ‘do not mess with me ever’ kind of vibe. But according to him, that wasn’t and isn’t always the case for he considers he has a very punchable face. In an interview with The Independent, the actor stated,

“No matter what, I just had that kind of face that people wanted to punch. I would go to a dance, and there would be 300 people there. There would be like three guys, and they would just zero in on me.. and then they – bang – hit me in the face… All the time, I don’t know what it is. I just have a very punchable face.”

While he also stated that he has been in fights many times, his enduring success proves that behind his ‘punchable’ face lies a resilience that remains unbreakable.
