However, there's no way to check if this is really true. Since the beginning of this horrific murder case, there have been several bizarre theories floating around the Internet without any valid proof. Kohberger is being detained in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, without bail, and his extradition hearing is set for January 3, 2023. Police officers from the university's Pullman campus reportedly helped carry out search warrants at the suspect's home and workplace, as per reports.
Current status after Kohberger's arrest
According to , investigators think Kohberger was solely to blame for the terrible killings. Monroe County Chief Public Defender Jason LaBar LaBar reportedly said that Kohberger was "shocked a little bit" by the allegations against him, but "he's calm right now." He added, "We don't really know much about the case. I don't have any affidavit or probable cause. I didn't want to discuss the case with him because I'm merely his representation for this procedural issue as to whether or not he wants to be extradited back to Idaho."
According to Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson, additional information concerning the slayings and the investigation that led to Kohberger's arrest will be sealed in a probable cause document. As per reports, Kohberger is accused of four charges of first-degree murder as well as felony burglary after allegedly breaking into the house where four Idaho students were living with the intention of killing them.
It is still unclear why the police first suspected him. However, a source claimed that the cops eventually discovered him in his Pennsylvania family home after keeping a watch on his movements. The suspect is a Ph.D. student in criminal justice and criminology at Washington State University, close to the University of Idaho, as reported by MEAWW.
Leads that lead to suspect
This case has been extremely delicate and challenging due to pressure from the victims' families and the media. The FBI helped the Moscow PD track down a Hyundai Elantra connected to the crime. Police claimed they had confiscated the white Hyundai Elantra from the Pennsylvania home because it was reportedly observed in the "immediate area" of the murder house. It is also asserted that it was the discovery of this white Hyundai Elantra that facilitated Kohberger's arrest.
