For the first time since earlier this year in May, Pokemon GO is set to receive some new Legendary Pokemon in Five-Star Raid Battles.
Following on from X and Y’s mascots, Xerneas and Yveltal, are the featured Legendaries from Pokemon Sword and Shield – Zacian and Zamazenta.
Appearing in the game in their Hero of Many Battles Forms, the two Pokemon are sure to be sought after.
First up, starting on Friday, August 20, is Zacian. But how good is it and should you spend your Raid Passes on it? Let’s take a look at its best moveset, PVP performance and its Shiny availability in Pokemon GO.
Can It Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Rather unsurprisingly, Zacian can’t currently be found in its Shiny Form in Pokemon GO, as is always the case when new Pokemon, especially Legendaries, are added to the game.
Zacian’s Shiny Form will almost certainly be made the focus of some event in the future.
If you’re curious, you can find out exactly what it looks like when it is shiny (The fully blue version on the right).
Is Zacian Good in Pokemon Go and What’s its Best Moveset?
I would suspect you’re going to see a fair amount of Zacian in Pokemon GO’s GO Battle League, or at least in the top division.
While it’s certainly not worth using in the Great or Ultra Leagues, PVPoke suggests that Zacian is the 18th best Pokemon in the Master League (once powered up with XL Candies to level 50).
Its Fairy typing means it becomes a menace for many Dragon-type Pokemon and it also picks up wins against the likes of Yveltal, Lugia and Giratina.
It’s worth noting that Togekiss is arguably a better Fairy-type pick in the Master League overall and it will beat Zacian if they come head to head in battle.
The best moveset for Zacian is as follows:
- Fast Move – Snarl
- Charged Move – Close Combat
- Charged Move – Play Rough
