If there was one player who shocked each and every NBA fan with his outrageous dunks, game-winning plays and applaud-worthy leadership, it was Memphis Grizzlies star JA Morant. Who now in turn has beaten San Antonio Spurs’ Dejounte Murray and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Darius Garland to become the Most Improved Player for 2021-22 season.
After winning this particular accolade, Morant took to Twitter to thank everyone who voted for him and explained how this award is a testament of the hardwork he puts day-in-day-out to reach at the top of his game and match the biggest names in the league.
JA Morant becomes 2021-22 Most Improved Player
Don’t do a lot of 🔥🔥🔥 takes on here and recognize Ja Morant moved from star to superstar this year. But No. 2 overall picks shouldn’t win MIP IMO.
My ballot: Murray, Bane, Poole.
Carry on.

“I believe in everyday life you want to be better at your profession & as a person all the time. It becomes a constant grind, so to receive this award is a true testament for the work I put into my craft on a daily basis and for that I’m truly grateful,” Morant wrote.
1. @jarenjacksonjr led the league in blocks, blocks per game, & blocks + steals, & not on the list for DPOY . 💐
2. @DBane0625 took a major leap this season & should be on the MIP list instead of me . 💐
3. Congrats coach, you deserve that award . 💐

Ja Morant beat out the other finalists in Dejounte Murray and Darius Garland for the recognition.
The Grizzlies star received 221 points with 38 first place votes, while Murray came close at second with 183 points behind 20 first place votes.
That being said, after winning the Rookie of The Year in 2019, JA Morant has surely shown his true calibre to make it big in the NBA after winning Most Improved Player accolade. Though no other Grizzlies’ player was able to fetch any award in the 2021-22 season, yet Morant’s spoken off award speaks volumes of how his team has supported him in this season.
Will this boost the confidence of Morant as he and his Grizzlies are head-locked in a serious battle in the first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Will the Grizzlies be able to embark upon their terrific performance from the regular season to finally take the lead once again in this particular series? Remains to be seen as we await the drama of Game 5 on Tuesday.
