Kelly Clarkson helps marry gay couple during New Year's Eve Las Vegas concert

Here’s the thing, they started out friends — and now they’ve gotten married at a Kelly Clarkson concert.

At the singer’s Chemistry: An Intimate Evening residency show in Las Vegas on Sunday, two men got hitched with the help of the “Since U Been Gone” singer as a witness.

In an audience video from the show, fans Brian and Marcello explain that they’ve been together for 15 years, and that they hope to get married with Clarkson’s assistance during the show. “Oh, it is tonight! With me!” the singer excitedly confirms about the couple’s wedding.

A man whom the couple brought as an officiant steps toward Clarkson, and she tells him to “say something!” as she hands him the mic. “By the power of Kelly Clarkson’s show, Las Vegas, New Year’s 2024, I pronounce you both husband and husband,” the officiant says.

Clarkson then approaches the officiant's mother and enthusiastically says, “Look what your baby just did!”

The singer wished the newlyweds good luck before returning to her performance.

Clarkson released her 10th studio album Chemistry in 2023. In support of the album, the singer began her first-ever residency in July at the Bakkt Theater in Las Vegas, playing 10 shows in the summer before adding four additional shows — two at the end of December, and two more in February.

Last month, the singer’s daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show won two Daytime Emmys — one for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and another for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.
