The 2022 NASCAR cup season has been monumental. The introduction of Next-Gen cars gave fans some of the most competitive championship chases. Fans also witnessed the return of some of the iconic cup teams to victory lane and the front row. Petty GMS Racing. RFK Racing and RCR are among the groups that made huge improvements.
Richard Childress Racing improved the most in the cup garage. The No:3 and No:8 car scored four wins combined this season, and both their driver arced in the playoffs. Tyler Reddick guided the No:8 team to 3 race wins; all three were his first in the cup. Austin Dillon scored a sole victory this season, but it was significant for him in the final regular season race.
The Daytona win earned him his 5th post-season qualification and ended his two-year winless run. Richard Childress’s Grandson finished the season at P11, scoring 4 top 5s and 6 top 10s along with his win. Surprisingly this is the 3ed time in his nine full-time cup seasons that Dillon is finishing P11 in the championship. It is his best-ever finish to date.
Austin Dillon also ventured into a Reality TV show this year as he starred in Austin Dillon’s Life in the Fast Lane, which is Telecasted on the USA network. The show featured Dillon, his wife, and his son alongside his friend Paul Swan and his wife. So far, three episodes have been aired, and it has a 4.8/10 rating on IMDB.

Austin is literally one of the most consistent guys in the field. Even with less great results, he had a better average finish than Reddick

The literal definition of Mid and being incredibly boring

Tbf Reddick was less consistent and overall better, but I feel like most people give Dillon to much shit. Solid driver who can get a win here and there (and 2 championships).

Second at Fontana and Talladega. Third at Martinsville. Top 5 at Bristol when the motor blew. Third at Atlanta when he got wrecked. Leading at Charlotte when he wrecked. Finally got a top 10 on a road course. The first half was solid. The second half wasn’t nearly as good.

Austin Dillon as well as Ty are good drivers. I think ty in good equipment could probably be better than Austin because he's more methodical in his approach. Austin in 1980s/90s RCR would probably be good for 2 to 3 wins a year. Not earnhardt but decent enough.

Eh, I’d rank it just below Bubba’s, but that’s just because I have a soft spot for docuseries because it was slightly better otherwise. As for Dillion, I’d say one of his better RCR years

Not sure I’d be saying he’s in the fast lane. Hasn’t done a damn thing in the 3 car. Tyler just absolutely embarrassed him on a weekly basis!!! He should’ve been out of that ride years ago

A joke — always has and alway will — needs to get from RCR — he has nothing that his grandad has not given him

Being Richard Childress’s grandson is all he’s got going for him !
