Maralee Nichols: Fitness trainer who defied intimidation by Khloe Kardashian’s ex

Maralee Nichols is a woman who has been in the public eye due to her connection to NBA player, Tristan Thompson, with whom she shares a child. Despite facing intense media scrutiny and criticism, Nichols has remained steadfast in her determination to tell her story and refuses to be silenced.

The fitness trainer came into the limelight in 2021 for having a child with NBA star, Tristan Thompson. Given that she had an affair with Thomson, who was at the time involved in a serious relationship with well-known TV beauty, Khloe Kardashian, the circumstances surrounding her fame were more or less controversial.

Nichols claimed that she first met Thompson in 2020 during a party at his Encino, California, home. According to her, the athlete identified himself as “single and co-parenting” and the model underlined that she would never have gotten involved with Thompson if she had known he was seeing someone.

What is, however, known is that on December 3, 2021, Nichols gave birth to her son after her pregnancy was induced due to placental abnormalities. She gave birth to a baby boy, whom she simply named Theo. Her choice to exclude the name of the child’s father from the birth certificate arose from the tumultuous aftermath of the revelation of Theo’s paternity.

The birth of Nichols’ son and the subsequent disclosure of the child’s paternity stirred up controversy between herself and Thompson, who had publicly denied the claims of being responsible for her pregnancy. According to Nichols, upon informing Thompson of her pregnancy, he proposed to compensate her with a sum of $75,000 in exchange for her silence on the matter, an offer she blatantly refused.

Following the incident with Thompson, an enraged Nichols decided to sue the NBA player after the birth of their son, claiming that he fathered her son after they had sexual relations on the eve of Thompson’s 30th birthday.

Thompson seemed to threaten Nichols over child support in court records obtained Page Six and even seemed to persuade her to get an abortion. Her case filing was made known to the public, which subsequently led to Thompson’s admittance of having a fling with Nichols and cheating on his partner, Khloe Kardashian, in the process. However, he requested that a paternity test be carried out before he claims responsibility for the child.

Despite his bid to water down the situation, a paternity test proved that he had indeed fathered Nichols’ son Theo.  After the results of the tests were released, Thompson issued a statement fully accepting the child as his.

The statement read:

“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son.”

In the statement, Thompson went on to offer a public apology to Kardashian, his now ex-girlfriend and mother of one of his children, who was at the time of Nichols’ pregnancy also expecting a baby by way of surrogate.

“I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.

Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you.

You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the upmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.“
