Rashford Manchester United’s Top Earner as per talks suggest but David de Gea is part of the salary swap.
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is set to become the highest-paid player at the club with a lucrative new contract worth £375,000 per week.
To finance this substantial increase, the Red Devils intend to execute a salary exchange involving goalkeeper David de Gea.
Marcus Rashford, currently earning a weekly salary of £200,000, has one more year remaining on his contract with Manchester United after the club exercised their option to extend it by 12 months.
On the other hand, David de Gea, aged 32, is already earning the same amount that is being proposed to Rashford but is currently without a contract.
Manchester United has offered De Gea a new deal at a significantly reduced rate of £200,000 per week, making it clear that they will not increase the offer any further.
If De Gea agrees to the new terms, it would result in a salary swap between him and Rashford.
According to insiders, the higher-ups at Old Trafford are reportedly unconcerned about the decision David de Gea will make regarding his future.
If the goalkeeper agrees to a new contract, the increased wages offered would be offset by the savings made on Manchester United’s highest goal scorer.

On the other hand, if De Gea rejects the offer and departs, the club would save even more on wages.
Marcus Rashford stands to benefit from a substantial salary increase, amounting to an additional £8.4 million per year over a five-season period.
It’s worth noting that United retains a 12-month extension option on Rashford’s contract.
Insiders close to Marcus Rashford, who is 25 years old, maintain that he envisions his future with Manchester United.
Manager Erik Ten Hag has always expressed confidence that a deal will be reached.
However, the situation surrounding David de Gea, aged 32, is less clear, as the manager intends to bring in another goalkeeper regardless.
Jordan Pickford from Everton is the preferred choice, and the England national team’s goalkeeper reportedly desires a move to United, even if it means competing for a spot in the starting lineup.
Additionally, if a buyer can be found, United goalkeeper Dean Henderson will be sold during the summer transfer window, along with other players, as Ten Hag aims to acquire a striker and midfielder.
