Meghan Trainor might still be relatively fresh-faced on the music scene, but she's certainly made her mark in a hurry. Since being featured in the pages of Glamour(our November 2014 issue was her first magazine shoot, ahem ahem!) her star has climbed up and up, and now there's even news that she'll soon be entering the fashion sphere with FullBeauty Brands.
"They reached out to me because they loved the message I want to achieve with my music—promoting, inspiring, and empowering all women," she told us, saying she's "still in the planning stages" to figure out what we can expect from the partnership. "Meghan's lyrics reinforce the message of loving yourself just the way you are," Nancy LeWinter, editorial director of FullBeauty magazine, added, hinting at multiple initiatives coming this year.
"When I want to feel my best, I put on a pair of heels and a comfortable, cute outfit. Wearing black is always the best color for making me feel empowered," she explained. "Putting on an all-black outfit with a bold-color lip instantly makes me feel both confident and powerful."
Other wardrobe staples include turtlenecks and A-line skirts, and both factor into the strong style message she's fostering in the video for "All About That Bass." The whole fashion thing is still pretty new for Meghan, though, especially since she grew up in a family with only brothers.
"I was never into fashion while growing up, but I've learned so much about it. I love it so much and am having fun with fashion and experimenting," she said. "I just started wearing lots of pencil skirts, especially with [the video for] 'Dear Future Husband.' Just like dresses, they're comfortable and hug the body in the most flattering way. I've found that circle skirts are also favorable to all body types."
