The Met Gala 2022 is upon us. Yes, after September's party, the first Monday in May is officially back with this year's star-studded gala.
While the Met Gala is all about raising money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute and new “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” exhibit, let's be honest: We're all here for the fashion. In case you missed it, this year's theme can be boiled down to an exploration of the glamour during the United States' Gilded Age that started in the 1870s. Last year's festivities play a large role in this year's celebration: The two-part exhibition and big-picture theme honor the significant contributions that American designers and artisans have made throughout the history of style.
Whether or not you're in the camp that attendees have to follow the theme to a T by dressing to the nines in opera gloves and corsets, the Met gala always delivers when it comes to over-the-top style that we'll all be talking about for years to come.
