NORTH CAROLINA — Residents in North Carolina will not be able to play sweepstakes machines.
The North Carolina Supreme Court upheld the law banning the machines in the state.
After a challenge to the 2010 law, judges ruled the sweepstakes machines did meet the traditional definition of gambling.
The ban will not impact the state's only casino in Cherokee.
