Two female Supernumerary Police Officers have been suspended by the Nigeria Police Force weeks after their video trended on social media.
Both ladies who have a huge following on TikTok were suspended for acts the police refer to as “discreditable conduct” and the violation of social media policy.
The suspension was made known in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi and shared on Friday 26 August 2022.
“The suspended supernumerary officers — Obaze Blessing with SPY number 5709, and Obaze Emmanuella Uju with SPY number 5708, adorned themselves in conventional police officers’ uniforms contrary to the code regulating the SPY service,” part of the statement read.

The statement further revealed that contrary to extant laws, one of the ladies “adorned the rank of Superintendent of Police”.
Recall that Skabash.com had reported how viral photos of two sisters of the Nigeria Police Force caused a stir on social media.
In a collage of photos made into a short clip and seen on TikTok, both sisters were captured striking several poses in beautiful outfits.
In one of the images, the light-skinned duo were fully clad in their police uniforms as they took a memorable shot in front of a police station.
However, Ogunjobi in the statement said both ladies contravened Police Social Media Policy by portraying “themselves in the viral video and other videos as undisciplined and unprofessional”.
He said their actions amounted to “glorifying ill-gotten wealth and ill-morals, which has received wide condemnation from members of the public.”
He further said that the “Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has issued strict warning on the incessant, illegal and unwarranted use of Police Uniforms restricted to bonafide serving officers of the Nigeria Police Force.”
The IGP also warned Police officers against the misuse of police restricted uniforms.
Meanwhile, in a separate post, the Force PRO also explained the duo who were taught SPY guidelines erred by putting on police uniforms while “they are not conventional police officers” but spies.
