Nse Ikpe Etim was born on October 21, 1974. She attended Awa Nursery School and Command Primary School, Kaduna. She went to Louis College, Jos, and the Federal Government Colleges in Jos and Ilorin, respectively, for her secondary school education. She once stated that she moved around a lot when she was younger because of her father’s career with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Ikpe-Etim obtained a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar. She is currently a multi-award-winning actress, whose love for acting is evident whenever she speaks on and off the big screen.

Nse Ikpe-Etim is an actress who has been gracing the Nigerian film industry with her presence since she started her acting career as a student at the university. She has been a part of several blockbusters and iconic films in the Nigerian film industry.

At 18, Ikpe-Etim started acting on stage at the university. Her first television appearance was in the family soap, Inheritance. After she graduated from university, she temporarily left the film industry to venture into other endeavours before making a comeback with Emem Isong’s Reloaded, acting alongside Ramsey Nouah, Rita Dominic, Ini Edo and Desmond Elliot. In December 2019, Ikpe-Etim was featured in the Visual Collaborative Polaris catalogue, under the Supernova series for humanities. She was interviewed alongside people such as William Coupon, Bisila Bokoko and Ade Adekola. This was a great honour for Ikpe-Etim, as her career was being highlighted and celebrated by a reputable company like Polaris.

In 2020, she was in the cast of Quam’s Money which is a follow-up to the 2018 film New Money, directed by Tope Oshin. The follow-up story follows what happens when a security guard (Quam) suddenly becomes a multi-millionaire. The movie also featured the likes of Falz, Jemima Osunde and Blossom Chukwujekwu.

In February 2021, she was one of the lead actors alongside Richard Mofe-Damijo in the film Fine Wine. In that same 2021, the actress dropped jaws with her outstanding acting prowess in the Netflix series, King of Boys: The Return of the King. From a daughter to a wife, the talented diva got married to her sweetheart, Clifford Sule, on February 14, 2013. They had a court marriage in Lagos and then a traditional marriage in her hometown in Akwa Ibom. Her husband is a senior lecturer at Middlesex University.

In 2019, Nse Ikpe-Etim revealed that she removed her womb to save her life after she was diagnosed with a medical condition known as Adenomyosis. Adenomyosis is a gynaecological medical condition in which the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium) breaks through the uterus’s muscle wall (the myometrium). This condition can cause painful menstrual cramps, heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding, fatigue and other symptoms.

The actress revealed her story at an event entitled: “Conversation with Nse”, in Lekki, Lagos. She said she was diagnosed with the condition in 2016 and that it was a difficult decision for her to make. The actress admitted that she cried when the doctor said she would have to remove her uterus to live a normal life. During the conversation, Ikpe-Etim said she was determined to find a way to manage the condition and she tried various treatments and different medications. But eventually, she had no choice but to remove her uterus. This decision deeply saddened her, but she was also relieved that it would save her life.

Ikpe-Etim said her experience has taught her to be more aware of her body and to take better care of her health. Encouraging other women to take their health seriously and to seek help if they suspect any health issue, Ikpe-Etim’s fertility story is an inspiration to many women who are struggling with similar conditions. Her courage and determination showcase the strength and resilience that this actress possesses.

In 2022, speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on his show #WithChude, she further spoke on her fertility issue:

I didn’t feel shame but inadequacy, I felt inadequate as a woman because every time it was mentioned I would remember. So that’s what it was…

Shame, I’m not ashamed. The least that I would be but I’m thankful for how I was brought up, we don’t tie shame to ourselves. We live through life fully and that’s how it is…

My husband had stood by me through all of this because that’s the way it’s supposed to be when people say oh we need to really be thankful for. What really happened?? This is us, you walk in there as if it’s a partnership, what comes good, bad, ugly, it’s us just let it be.
