“Something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, I don't want to compete with the clothes,” Pamela Anderson wrote in her Substack newsletter, The Open Journal, of her original experiment going makeup-free in October “I'm not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room. I feel like it's just freedom. It's a release.”
She's said she's the “happiest I've ever been in my own skin” and that “beauty comes from within.” She also revealed that, after the death of her longtime makeup artist and friend in 2019, glamming up just wasn't as fun anymore.
On Instagram, Anderson shared a couple snaps of her naturally glowing face, writing, “Radiate love… 🤍.” The comments section quickly filled with fans applauding her grace and elegance in choosing to embrace her natural appearance.
“You are seriously such an icon and a mentor of sorts for me and so many other women, I’m sure,” wrote one especially moved follower. “You look stunning and not only are you making natural beauty glam again, you’re proving beauty isn’t assigned to age whatsoever. Not that you ever stopped being legendary, but your comeback these past few years hits so hard. Love you Pamela!!!!!!!”
Her two sons also expressed their love in the comments, proving again that the best things in life are not to be found in the beauty aisle.
