Panthers parking for Sunday's game could run close to $70 – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Plan to shell out some extra cash for parking for Sunday's Panthers playoff game.

Graig Harr is a PSL owner and bought a season parking pass. It ends up costing him $30 for this Sunday.

"It's a great lot and I know that my spot is waiting for me and it's a great deal," he said.

But if you don't have a spot waiting for you and have to find one, expect prices to range from $35 to almost $70.

Parking prices:

  • The E-Z parking lot near the Greyhound bus station: $4.50 now; $35 Sunday.
  • The Preferred parking lot at 5th and Graham: $5.50 now; $35 Sunday.
  • The Preferred parking lot at 4th and Graham: $6 now; $46 Sunday.
  • The Preferred parking lot at 3rd and Graham: $6 now; $58 Sunday.
  • The West parking lot at MLK and Graham: $6 now; $45 - $60 Sunday, depending on what other lots are charging.
  • The Preferred parking lot-- right across from the Panthers team store-- $69 Sunday.

E-Z owns about 3,000 of the spaces near the stadium.

"Demand is going to drive it, and demand, we're happy to say, has been very, very high all season," general manager Jay Ferguson said.

The way Harr sees it, "Coming from New York a few years ago, under $50 is a bargain."

He's just hoping he can use his space. His wife is due any day now with their fourth child.

Another option is mass transit. A round trip on light rail is $4.40 for an adult.

In an effort to ensure the family orientation of event parking in Preferred Parking locations before and after stadium events Sunday, Preferred Parking Service will be actively enforcing the below criteria:

  • Attendant directed parking in certain locations
  • No speakers, amplified sound or DJ's allowed
  • No RV's or generators allowed
  • No unauthorized vending
  • Certain location will close to entering traffic at game time
  • All locations always close 1-Hour after the conclusion of event
