Plant explosion rocks Statesville residents – WSOC TV

STATESVILLE, N.C. — An explosion caused damage to a plant in Statesville late Tuesday.

Part of the roof and a wall on one side of the 3A Composites plant on Taylorsville Highway collapsed around 11 p.m. Firefighters responded but said they found very little fire at the scene.

Twenty workers were inside but no one was hurt.

Area residents said they felt the explosion from miles away.

Police said they did not get any reports of damage to other buildings.

There's no word on what may have caused the explosion.
