Popular Nigerian singer, Tems postpones UK show due to Illness

Nigerian music sensation, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has postponed her shows scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom after being diagnosed with an inflammation of the voice box called Reflux Laryngitis.

Reflux Laryngitis, according to Medicinenet, is an inflammation and swelling of the larynx (voice box), and it is majorly caused by a backflow of stomach acid up into the esophagus.

Heartburn is the most prevalent symptom of reflux laryngitis. Other symptoms include chronic hoarseness of voice, problems with swallowing, cough, itchy throats, etc.

The 27-year-old music star took to her Instagram page on Tuesday, June 14th, to inform her 2.2 million followers that she regrets postponing the shows, but she had no choice but to attend to her health.

She stated that calling off the show was strictly based on her doctors’ advice. Temilade said, “All tickets are still valid. Again I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, but I promise to be back better than ever by the Grace of God. Till then, I will give you the best show ever.”

Followers showedTems sympathy, with many wishing her a speedy recovery from the illness.

In another news, Nigerian artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has announced the arrival of his newborn baby boy.

The musician who shot into the limelight with his hit track ‘Za Zu’ announced the good news on Instagram with the caption, “It’s a baby boy.” He was swiftly congratulated by friends, colleagues, and fans.

The baby boy is the second child Portable will be having with his baby mama, known as Omobewaji Oluwaferanmi alias Olori Portable.

Still on entertainment, Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has expressed his desire to have a daughter who will one day make him proud.

The entertainer made his wish known after he came across a video of a young school girl who showed off incredible dance skills and leg work when dancing to his latest single, Buga.

In the video which was shared by Kizz Daniel on his Instagram page, the young girl who appeared energetic outshined her mates on the podium as she danced to the chairs from the crowd.
