INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Purdue University football player Uche Nwaneri believes the school's decision to suspend him could rob him of his pro football dreams.
So he's taking the school to court.
Purdue suspended Nwaneri for a semester after a July fight with teammate Ryan Noblet left Noblet with a broken jaw. The Campus Appeals Board upheld the suspension last week.
A preliminary hearing in a Tippecanoe County court was scheduled for Wednesday morning. Nwaneri's attorney Courtney Justice says he hoped Nwaneri would be reinstated until a formal hearing takes place. They were not seeking damages.
