Oluremi Tinubu is a Nigerian politician who was the First Lady of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007. She is currently a senator at the National Assembly, representing the Lagos Central Senatorial District.
She is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oluremi Tinubu, the 12th child in her family, was born on September 21, 1960, in Ogun State.
She obtained her West Africa Senior School Certificate from Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School in Ijebu-Ode, in 1979.
Tinubu has a B.S. in education from the University of Ife and a National Certificate of Education in Botany and Zoology from the Adeyemi College of Education.
She got a Postgraduate Diploma at The Redeemed Christian Bible College in 2010.

Career
Oluremi started as a high school teacher before venturing fully into politics.
Politics
She became the first lady of Lagos State after her husband, Bola Tinubu, became Governor. She established the New Era Foundation, whose objectives include developing facilities for kids’ all-around growth and enhancing civic engagement and environmental health.
She was elected to the National Assembly in 2011 in a contentious election contested in the Legislative House Election Petition Tribunal. She was cleared in 2012, and the election results were affirmed.
Since then, she has established a reputation as one of the most charismatic senators in the national assembly, serving a third term.
Oluremi Tinubu has spoken in favour of establishing state police to deal with national security issues. She proposed a bill to refurbish the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST, in 2021.

On March 3, 2016, the Abimbola Jakande Obstetrics and Gynecology Center at the Badore Primary Health Centre in Eti-Osa Local Government officially opened. The provision of grinding machines to those who benefited from the petty traders’ empowerment capital scheme, the gift of a boat to the Eti-Osa local government (Iru Victoria Island LCDA), and the opening of the Iyaloja-General Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Model Market at Oke-lra Nla in the Eti-Osa Local Government all point to a concerted effort that has been made without much fanfare to address the essential needs of the people.
Beyond infrastructure and essentials, Oluremi Tinubu significantly contributed to other societal elements. Her Youth Empowerment & Skill Acquisition Scheme (YESAS), which combines the Good Boys and Girls Empowerment Scheme, has assisted 1172 persons (GBGES). Through this program, 144 young people received training in a range of skills along with N40,000 each and firm start-up kits.

Among these many successes are the distribution of 10 block-making machines and N500,000 in startup funds to constituents, the distribution of sewing machines and 5KVA generators to 50 young people involved in fashion design on September 1, 2016, the sponsorship of five young people to the African Youth Initiative on Crime Prevention Conference held in Abuja and Lagos, respectively, and the presentation of sewing machines and N20,000 to 79 young people.
Primary schools now have better infrastructure, which helps pay the bills for disadvantaged high school pupils taking school certificate exams. The 255 GCE forms she provides to constituents each year serve as evidence of this. Controversies
In a video that went viral online in 2019, Senator Oluremi was heard talking in Yoruba about evicting Igbo residents of Lagos State and inheriting their wealth. She continued by saying that contacting the local deities would ban the Igbos from Lagos.
During a meeting that was held behind closed doors in 2016, Senator Oluremi and Senator Dino Melaye got into a quarrel. She claims that Senator Dino Melaye threatened to get her pregnant and hit her. Senator Tinubu requested adequate security from the Inspector General of Police due to the purported attack threat made by her colleague and then-fellow party member Dino Melaye at a closed-door senate meeting.
