The Green Bay Packers had a really tough choice to make. Either let their best and news-loving quarterback Aaron Rodgers go and spread the money around or retain Aaron at any cost and then try to cut costs as much as possible. They took the second option.
Davante Adams is undoubtedly one of the best wide receivers going around at this point in time. So when he announced that he will not play under the franchise tag something had to give as Green Bay had already dedicated a lot of funds towards retaining Rodgers.
“Aaron Rodgers was the first to text Christian after he was drafted”: Christian Watson’s father
Davante went to the Raiders leaving behind a massive void for the Packers to fill. Recently, when Aaron was asked at the Pat McAfee Show about the possibility of Green Bay drafting a star WR like Deebo Samuel, he replied by saying not many teams would be willing to let their top WRs go.
It was evident that the Packers will look for Wide Receivers in the draft and did exactly that. The Green Bay-based franchise roped in Christian Watson into their team at the NFL draft. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, Watson is a talented WR. He is a four-time FCS champion.

As it turns out, Aaron Rodgers was elated with the Packers going for Watson. As posted by Dom Izzo on Twitter, Rodgers was the first to text Christian as soon as it was confirmed that he will feature for the Packers in the coming season. “Watson’s dad tells me that the first person to text Christian after being drafted by Green Bay: Aaron Rodgers,” Izzo Tweeted.
Something tells me he had some input on who they took in the first place

Christian Watson on what he'll tell Aaron Rodgers:
"I'm ready to work, I'm ready to learn, and I'm ready to get after it. I know he's gonna be tough on me, and that's exactly what I want."

Aaron Rodgers finally gets a new weapon with Christian Watson.
Still raw, but showed some growth down the stretch and is insanely gifted physically. Big fan of the fit.

Can't wait to see Aaron Rodgers throwing 70 yard TDs again.
Christian Watson is exactly the type of WR the #Packers offense needed.
