Whether you enjoy its gory scenes and bizarre storylines or not, the Saw franchise revolutionized the horror genre with the release of its first film in 2004. The spine-chilling Lionsgate franchise continues to send shivers down our spines due to its distinctive combination of ghoulish and psychological suspense. And now, those who love this cult classic series have a new reason to get excited. Reports indicate that a new Saw video game is currently under development, taking fans on a terrifying adventure through the dark world of John ‘Jigsaw’ Kramer.
Meagan Good, Jonathan Majors’ girlfriend, and a few other familiar faces from the acclaimed franchise can be expected to make an appearance in the alleged video game. Meanwhile, a tabletop game titled Saw: The Jigsaw Trials is also reportedly scheduled for release in 2024.
A Video Game is Reportedly in the Works
Thanks to its reputation as one of the most bizarre, graphic, and gory horror film franchises ever, Saw has garnered a dedicated fan base since its 2004 debut. As a part of this acclaimed franchise, Zombie Studios created a survival horror video game, Saw, aka Saw: The Video Game, in 2009.
Set in the interim between the first and second Saw films, the game received a mixed reception upon its release. It was praised for having an engaging setting that was faithful to the Saw film series and a plot with multiple possible outcomes.
Now, as per Iconiq Games, the official Saw board game Saw: The Jigsaw Trials is anticipated to be released in 2024. The icing on the cake is that there is apparently a new Saw game in development, so that is even more reason to celebrate. A new Saw video game is reportedly being developed for next-generation consoles, as Cult of Ember has confirmed. Who will be the actors?
Let’s explore this intriguing speculation and look at actors who could potentially return for this highly anticipated game.
1. Meagan Good
Meagan Good, whose credits include the movies Think Like a Man and Code Black, portrayed Luba Gibbs in the 2008 horror film Saw V, which was a follow-up to 2007’s Saw IV and the fifth entry in the Saw film series.
Despite the generally unfavorable reviews the film received from critics, it managed to earn $118.2 million worldwide. With her acting chops and knack for delivering riveting performances, Good could add a new dimension to the game, which makes her the perfect choice to make a return to the Saw universe.
2. Athena Karkanis
Prior to her Saw franchise debut, Athena Karkanis was not as well-known. Although she starred in several TV series, such as Skyland and The Border, her breakthrough performance was in the supernatural drama Manifest on NBC as Grace Stone.
Given that she made multiple appearances in the Saw franchise, she is actually one of the most intriguing contenders on this list. Karkanis played agent Lindsey Perez in Saw IV and Saw VI, working with Peter Strahm as they investigated Jigsaw.
3. Emmanuelle Vaugier
Many of the characters that fall into group Jigsaw traps are portrayed by seasoned character actors. These performers are fairly well-known even though they play supporting roles in numerous movies and TV series. Emmanuelle Vaughier, who has a long list of accomplishments, meets that requirement.
Smallville, CSI: NY, 40 Days and 40 Nights, and Two and a Half Men, are just a few of the shows in Vaugier’s career. In Saw II and Saw IV, she masterfully portrayed the character of Addison. In a couple of the later installments, she also made flashback appearances.

4. Devon Bostick
With his four seasons as Jasper Jordan on The CW’s sci-fi series The 100, which premiered in 2014, Devon Bostick actually earned more recognition in the Saw horror franchise.
He had a small role in Saw VI, long before anyone knew who he was. He portrayed Brent Abbott, the teenage son of a man who passed away as a result of William Easton canceling his health insurance. Having him reprise his role in the video game would heighten the element of horror and add a touch of familiarity that fans crave.
5. Ken Leung
As an actor, Ken Leung has appeared in more films and TV series than most people can even begin to count. In addition to his breakthrough performances in Rush Hour and X-Men: The Last Stand, he was a recurring character on the popular mystery series Lost as Miles Straume.
Amidst the majority of those performances, Leung genuinely played a crucial part in the 2004 film Saw. He portrayed Steven Sing, the detective partner of David Tapp (Danny Glover), who gets killed by a shotgun trap while pursuing Jigsaw.
6. Julie Benz
Julie Benz, who has been praised for her riveting roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, could add depth to the Saw video game. Her contribution to the franchise is remembered more vividly considering her character’s significance in Saw V (2008). Furthermore, Brit—Benz’s Saw V character—is one of the lucky few who make it through in a Jigsaw game.
The Saw video game promises to deliver a spine-tingling, immersive experience that will have players on the edge of their seats, regardless of whether the creators choose to introduce new characters or bring back old favorites.
