A limestone sculpture and fountain have been erected outside an Indiana hospital to commemorate the 2008 floods that heavily damaged the facility.
Artist Todd Frahm of Solsberry created the sculpture named "Halcyon." It features a hand supporting a bird.
The Republic reports the sculpture has been placed outside the cafeteria at Columbus Regional Hospital.
The hospital suffered $171 million in damage in the June 2008 floods. It is beginning construction of a $4.7 million flood wall around its campus to prevent future problems.
Hospital president Jim Bickel says the sculpture and fountain are a tribute to the employees, physicians and volunteers who donated their time to help the hospital recover.
