"Lose You to Love Me" is Gomez's reentry into the music scene after a brief hiatus from public life. She released the vulnerable track last month, and fans immediately deduced that lyrics like "In two months you replaced us like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it in the thick of healing” were about how quickly Bieber moved on to his current relationship with now wife Hailey Baldwin.

Although the song is emotional, Gomez quickly indicated she's actually in a great place with another new song, the uptempo "Look at Her Now." She told journalist Zach Sang in a recent interview, though, that she wants "the individual" her music is about to hear what she has to say.

“For me, my intentions are never evil. They just aren’t. I don’t even know how to do that," she explained. “I can be a bit snappy, but I always want to come from a place that’s genuine, and when I feel like some things haven’t been said, then I get to turn that into art.”
