Teenager critically injured in south Indy shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — A teenager is in critical condition after a shooting on the south side of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon.

Officers arrived and found a 17-year-old victim with a gunshot wound. According to IMPD, the person who was shot is said to be in critical condition.

IMPD said the person believed to be responsible for the shooting remained at the scene and was detained. 

In an update Sunday evening, IMPD said they believe the shooting was accidental, and the person responsible was questioned and released following their initial detainment.
