The Simpsons Features Minecraft-Themed Couch Gag in Latest Episode, Notch Responds "Unsure" of its Inclusion

For the last 25 years, The Simpsons has been both one of the longest-running TV series to ever grace American televisions and be one of the most culturally-significant shows to air: so much so that the series even featured Minecraft in its latest episode.

In the newest episode aired, a Minecraft-ized version of Springfield was featured in this week’s iconic “couch gag” intro to The Simpsons featuring digitized versions of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, and even a Creeper-version of bartender Moe in the show.

Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson even responded to the inclusion of his famous game last night on the show, sending out two tweets about his reaction to seeing it on the small screen, with a mixture of uncertainty about it – you can check out the intro to the episode featuring Minecraft below:

The Simpsons did a Minecraft couch gag. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I STILL feel a bit like it's just this small game I made at home. It's so weird to have all these things happen. <3
