The Taylor Swift Dating Criticism I'm Taking Personally (Back Off You Guys!)

And here's where I start taking it personally, because you would not believe how many times I get asked if I'm online dating "for the blog stories." Seriously? NO! I'm single, and I'm human, and I'm looking for someone to fall in love with. That's why. It's not my plan for a date to turn out to be terrible, but if it does, uh..yeah, I'm gonna write about it. I'm going to guess that while Taylor has much better hair and lots more talent than me, we share this mantra in common: Hope for the best, write about the worst. For all the secretaries and engineers and graphic designers out there, it might be pretty easy to maintain a personal/private life separation, but in a creative career, it's not that uncommon for overlap. And although she occasionally names names (ahem, John), at least she's not going around discussing private sexual details of experiences with them like certain of her tacky exes have done in the past (AHEM, JOHN). So let's give Taylor a break for using her love life as inspiration for her music just like every other musician on the planet, mmkay?

But Taylor, if you are gonna do that dating detox, I'm available for a girls night anytime. It might be good for us both.

Are you one of the people that thinks Taylor needs to stop writing songs about her exes already? Or do you think it's OK?
