The View is taking a holiday hiatus — here's when it's coming back

The women of The View are taking a hiatus for the holidays, but they'll be back in 2024.

Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro will be off the air starting Monday, Dec. 18, and will not return before the ball drops in Times Square. 

The View returns with new episodes and fresh guests on Tuesday, Jan. 2. 

Prior to that return, the show will serve up "encore broadcasts" of episodes from earlier this year, with most of the episodes having originally aired in November and December. 

Those episodes will air at The View's usual time, with the exception of Dec. 25, when no episode will air. The reruns will include episodes that featured guests Sofia Coppola (Dec. 19), Tyler Perry (Dec. 20), Hillary Clinton (Dec. 21), Cynthia Nixon (Dec. 22), Karine Jean-Pierre and Kenan Thompson (Dec. 26), Hannah Waddingham and Gladys Knight (Dec. 27), Jennifer Garner and Issa Rae (Dec. 28), and Ed Helms (Dec. 29).

Until its return, entertain yourself with The View's wildest moments of the year, including Whoopi threatening to fight a shark, and a battle between Hostin and Griffin.

Catch The View when it returns Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. ET/PT on ABC.
