This place is another super-flexible location. The high white ceilings and the all-white walls and floors make this an interesting, bright place to shoot. The place gets a surprising amount of natural light, which warms up all that white and makes it almost glow. Like others on this list, it’s also got a pretty big freight elevator, so you’ll be able to get your film or photo gear up (as well as your crew) with ease. The owners also have an assortment of fascinating antique furniture on hand that you can use to stage photos — or of course, you could bring your own.
Like many warehouses in Los Angeles, this one is pretty busy, usually having multiple photo or film shoots a week. But the owner is known to respond to inquiries really quickly — and sometimes can get you into the space as soon as today. In the words of one Peerspace reviewer: “Amazing space with a ton of amenities! I will book again!”
This studio in North Hollywood has a pristine White Cyclorama wall and enough space to accommodate a cast and crew of up to about 50 people. You should know that there is an additional fee for any crew over 15, which is pretty standard. The main stage area is over 4,000 square feet, and the cyclorama is 30 feet x 30 feet and 14 feet tall. There’s also a nice closed-off backstage area with greenrooms and meeting rooms.
According to a creative director who booked this warehouse for a shoot: “Wonderful space! This studio is a gem and we highly recommend it to anyone. From pre production through production, their staff was friendly and helpful, stepping up whenever we had a question or new request. Will book again!”
This place is pretty unique in that it has two distinct sides with two distinct “looks.” One side is bohemian and fairly artsy-looking, and the other side is raw and gritty with sheet metal walls, rust, spray-painted notices, and so on. It would be easy to film part of the warehouse as an artists’ loft. And just as easy to film an interrogation for a spy film in the same warehouse, just by turning your camera around. And, so that you know, the listing mentions that set and prop builds are a-OK.
Check out what one reviewer had to say about their time here: “Host was super responsive ! Space appeared better in person ! We recorded a dance video of about 12 people !”
7. This mesmerizingly bright space in Central LA
This is another trendy place, especially for fashion shoots and Instagram photography. It has such a romantic, bright look that it could easily be styled as a ballet studio or a retro office building. It can really fit just about any creative need.
This open-concept warehouse is on the fifth floor and boasts more than 11,000 square feet. It’s a popular spot for photography – especially for Instagram shoots. Tons of natural light filter in through the windows, which reveal views of DTLA, including the Arts District and the Staples Center.
Make sure to check out their photos. They include some examples from photoshoots that have taken place in the warehouse, and those are sure to spark your imagination.
This place is one-of-a-kind. On the one hand, sure, it’s a big open space. On the other hand, everything about it has character. The concrete floor is weathered to a marble look. Those dark walls seem to disappear under the crazy plexiglass ceiling. And, the whole place is lit by LED lighting arrays, which can change color with the press of a button. The place looks creepy, bathed in red, and incredibly posh bathed in blue.
There aren’t many warehouses in Los Angeles or anywhere else quite like this space. It would be the perfect spot to shoot a music video, for a high fashion photoshoot, for glamour shots of Lamborghinis. It’s the perfect place for all of that.
And perhaps unsurprisingly, it has gotten tons of love from past Peerspace renters, as you can see from a review like this: “Awesome Space! really loved shooting at this location, the lighting is awesome and the space itself is well air conditioned and big!”
