I haven't played Turnberry but have played Royal Troon and the Portland course a few times.
I do love Royal Troon, my favourite course. Many memorable holes, the Postage Stamp is probably as memorable as any hole to play in the world. Railway is one of the most challenging holes, the back 9 is very tough but enjoyable.
I know Turnberry is well liked but I would not pay the money being charged now, especially with who owns it now.
RT is far cheaper, and you get a round on two courses.
You could also play the Old and the New at St. Andrews for less than 1 round on the Ailsa.
