A pond some say is just too beautiful is attracting attention in Japan.

Visitors are flocking to a fish pond near Seki in the central Gifu Prefecture to see what the fuss is about. A local believes the pond's amazing transparency has something to do with its popularity.

The pond, which is officially unnamed, but has been tagged by some online as "Monet's Pond," due to the numerous water lilies, sits in a tiny mountain village of about 200 people.

Koi fish can be seen swimming through the clear waters, which allow viewers to see all the way to the bottom of the pond.

A scientist says the water changes according to the materials that enter it at different times of the year.
