The Dallas Mavericks are set to enter a new era with owner Mark Cuban on the verge of selling a majority stake in the NBA franchise.
Cuban has been the owner of the Mavericks for 22 years but reports now claim that he will be selling his stake for around $3 billion.

He is expected to continue running basketball operations but he will be passing on majority ownership to multi-billionaire Miriam Adelson and her family.
And it will mean the Mavericks will now have one of the most wealthy people on earth as their new boss…
Miriam Adelson net worth
Adelson's net worth is a whopping $32.8 billion.
She was named as the 35th richest person in the world on Forbes’ 2023 list of billionaires.

That ranking also makes her the fifth richest woman in the world.
The 78-year-old is the largest shareholder of Las Vegas Sands Corp. which is a company that runs casino resorts in Singapore and Macau.
The business owns more than half of the New York stock exchange-listed gambling empire.
Adelson grew up to become a doctor in Israel before moving to New York where she met her husband Sheldon, who was a casino tycoon.

The successful businessman had thrived in Las Vegas and across Asia before he unfortunately died three years ago.
After Sheldon’s death, Miriam took over the company and therefore took ownership of 57% of the entire business.
Away from the gambling industry, Adelson also owns the Las Vegas Review-Journal while also being the publisher of an Israeli newspaper.
Las Vegas Sands are planning to expand their portfolio of casinos and resorts, aiming to build one in New York.
And one of those casino resorts could also be built for the Dallas Mavericks.
Speaking last year when the partnership between Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Cuban came to light, the Mavericks boss set out some plans.
Cuban said: “My goal, and we’d partner with Las Vegas Sands, is when we build a new arena it’ll be in the middle of a resort and casino. That’s the mission.”
