Green recounted meeting his dad on The Joe Rogan Experience. This is what he said:

I met my dad in the gym. I’m going and doing Jiu-Jitsu. And from the one class. He called me. And he’s like, what are you taking? What do you mean? He’s like, your supplement. We don’t even know what it was. It’s like, you know, BCAA’s and stuff like that. He brought me a whole care package and I start seeing this coach had a different love. He actually cared for the fighter. He actually was making sure of your health and what you are doing?

Green had a difficult childhood. Growing up, he had to live in multiple homes for foster children. His mother had a drug addiction problem while his father was away in prison. Jacob Behney’s kindness and generosity won him over. Behney, who was a fighter himself, saw potential in Bobby Green. Thus, he pushed Green to get better at his gift and supported him throughout the journey.

On the JRE, Bobby Green’s foster father, Jacob Behney, shared an exciting story about his experience as a first-time offender in prison. Being ignorant of the rules, Behney got in trouble for sitting with another convict from a different racial background. He got into a fight with another inmate in his cell. But Jacob Behney knew how to fight and choked him unconscious.

Then, the authorities transferred Behney to a state prison where he caught his people conspiring to attack him, fought off two guys attempting to stab him, and much more. Both Green and Behney share a special father-son relationship, and it will be exciting to see what’s next for the UFC lightweight.
