Know all about Frances Tiafoe’s coach

Frances Tiafoe and his coach Wayne Ferreira

Just like every tennis professional, Frances Tiafoe’s journey has coupled with several coaches under whose supervision he’s trained. His early life coach at the JTCC was Misha Kouznetsov who later left his job to full-train train Tiafoe. The American’s long-standing friend Zack Evenden was then in full-blown training with the 24-year-old shortly after his first ATP win in 2018.

The 2020 season began shaping things for the young achiever when he hired retired South African tennis professional and coach Wayne Ferreira since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic which also resulted in Evenden mutually agreeing with Tiafoe to leave, ultimately making Ferreira become his primary coach.

In an interview with his current coach Ferreira, he was asked what can be expected from the world No. 26 in his upcoming semi-finals match, and placing much confidence in his trainee he quoted. “He’s beaten Sinner and Alcaraz before. He believes that he can win too. I think the way he’s playing now, I don’t think I’ve seen him play as well or hit the ball as well as he’s doing now. So I think he has a very strong chance.”

Tiafoe now stands to face Carlos Alcaraz Garfia for his semi-final match at the courts of Flushing, a match whose result will dictate a chance for either of them to have a potential chance of winning the US Open title in the finals.
