Why are Erin Lichy and her husband Abraham being sued? 'RHONY' couple hit with $44K lawsuit

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Erin Dana Lichy and her husband Abraham Lichy have landed in some legal trouble.

The 'Real Housewives of New York City' star and her partner owe a total of $43,950 in rent for their New York City apartment, as per court documents obtained by TMZ

The landlord claims that the couple has been renting the pad since July 2019 but they have not paid the agreed rent and other fees from October 2021 to July 2023.

Erin and Abraham's landlord alleges that as per the lease, they were required to pay $13,500 per month, due on the first of every month.

However, they frequently paid rent late, failed to pay late fees, wrote checks that bounced, and occasionally did not pay rent at all.

Right now, the landlord is seeking $43,950 plus interest from the Lichys, as well as an additional $12,900 to cover his legal expenses related to the case.

It has been reported by the media outlet that the withheld two months of rent was the result of an agreed abatement caused by ongoing rodent issues, unsanitary conditions, and a broken elevator that lasted for a few months.

Erin and Abraham are shocked by the lawsuit as they received a positive letter of recommendation from their landlord when they moved out.

The document states "that the Lichys were exemplary tenants and left on excellent standing of their own volition. This lawsuit has no grounds and is just an example of someone trying to get their 5 minutes at someone else's expense."
