“Zoro is lost again figuring out what his talent is”: Mackenyu Surprises Fans Not Just by His Skills as a Swordsman but Also as a Singer After Covering a Song by the Chainsmokers

Mackenyu Arata is a man with multiple talents. Indeed, he is the son of legendary actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba, but he has set up his own identity through his exceptional stage presence. He has been in movies and TV shows since 2005.

But recently, he has stunned everyone by playing the One Piece character in its live-action adaptation, Roronoa Zoro.

It’s not like Zoro is the only character for which Arata had to move mountains for its training, he has also starred in various other anime’s action adaptations Jojo’s Bizzare Adventures, Rurouni Kenshin, Tokyo Ghoul S, and Knights of the Zodiac (2023).

He also received the famous Japan Academy Newcomers of the Year Award in 2017 for his role as Arata Wataya in the Chihayafuru live-action trilogy.

Through this, it’s clear that his achievement and appraisals are what makes him a great actor. There’s no doubt that he is a master of many skills. Yet again he knocked fans’ socks off with his amazing singing chops.

Mackenyu Arata Stunned His Fans with His Mesmerising Voice

Many of Mackenyu’s fans know that he’s good friends with EXO’s (K-pop boy group) member Chanyeol (known for his beautiful voice). Both celebrities even follow each other’s accounts on Instagram too. Arata even refers to Chanyeol as a “best friend from Seoul.”

But the fans might be shocked to know that Arata himself is a great singer like his “hyung” (refers to big brother in Korean).

Yes right, because the 26-year-old Japanese actor stunned his fans (yet again), with his mesmerizing voice. Fans were amazed to hear him singing Closer by Chainsmokers. He literally gave a Japanese version of this song which was loved by many. Hear his voice in this Instagram video.

One Instagram user humorously commented: “This guy can do anything except be mine.” Another wrote: “Zoro is lost again figuring out what his talent is.”

The One Piece star went to music since childhood. He practiced piano when he was 10 years old. He has also participated in the brass band of his high school in Beverly Hills where he played saxophone and flute.

His interests were not only limited to acting and music. As a young child, he had many other interests as well.

Mackenyu Arata Had Various Interests Since Childhood

When the handsome Japanese star was a young child, he had various interests. At the age of 7, he began learning horseback riding and Yabusame.

He started practicing Kyokushin Karate at the age of 8. During middle school, he achieved third place at the US Kyokushin Karate Nationals.

In an interview with Kumako Land when asked “If you didn’t do acting, what would you do?” He replied: “Perhaps I’d be a police officer or lawyer in America.”

So, it can be assumed that he is the type of person who loves to explore the different dynamics of different fields. And that’s certainly what makes him unique.
